Amelia Cox DVM
Dr. Amelia Cox, born and raised in Birmingham, AL, knew that she wanted to become a veterinarian since she was 7 years old. During high school, she spent her after school and weekend hours working in a hands-on science museum, educating the public about rats, snakes, chinchillas, iguanas, and other exotic animals. Amelia attended Berry College for undergrad, where she received a B.S. in Animal Science. During her time at Berry, she was able to work at a dairy farm. She even sold milk to the public!
Amelia attended veterinary school at Auburn University. While working in small animal medicine, Amelia discovered her true love for building relationships with her clients in addition to helping her patients. It was during this time of connection that she was able to experience her true calling within veterinary medicine. Amelia graduated Auburn and spent the majority of her career practicing in Birmingham, AL before joining the Trinity team.
Outside of the clinic, Amelia likes to spend time with her daughter Elanor and her husband Chase, a surgery resident at UNC Chapel Hill. During her days off, she loves exploring her new home with her family, including their dog Jude She forsees lots of adventures to parks and restaurants in her future – please provide her with all your recommendations! In her spare time, Amelia enjoys a good board game and practicing Ashtanga yoga.
